that night after burning man
the drive back to the mundane
the constant bashing our heads
against giant brick walls
of our lives
of trying to get it right
the moments of pure
enlightenment
tenderness
joy
peace
frustration
and even loving anger
that we both know are possible
that night, that night
we stopped at a beach
it was cold
much like the burning man nights
when you forgot you had a comforter in the back seat
but i digress....
that night
wrapped in blankets
fearless of the wild winds
impervious to the the crashing storm
our gratitude enveloped us
like a warm blanket
and i felt bliss
seen, heard, believed
loved
under the moonlight
our love grew eternal
and love knew no boundaries
we returned
to the insanity of it all
to the door to to the way back home
you took me for pizza
and then i knew you really loved me
because i know you hate pizza
and onions
at least we have that in common
a laugh
a smile
a profound knowing
and i knew in that moment
my soulmate had fallen
from the stars
sometimes i am baffled
that you put up with my bullshit
sometimes i am baffled
that i put up with yours
feels safer sometimes from afar
other times
magnetism has its way
i thank all the goddesses
for you
for our connection
for this universe
for enriching my life
for awakening my spirit
for challenging me
for speaking your truth
for creating space to speak mine
and for helping me to believe
that another world is possible
besos
